Zion National Park Lifts Fire Restrictions, Welcomes Back Campfires!

Exciting news for nature lovers and campers! Zion National Park has officially lifted its Stage 2 fire restrictions, effective immediately. This welcome change comes after significant precipitation and a sustained increase in humidity across the park, dramatically reducing the wildfire risk that prompted the restrictions earlier this season.

For weeks, visitors to the iconic Southern Utah park had to forgo one of the quintessential camping experiences: gathering around a crackling campfire.

The Stage 2 restrictions, implemented to protect the park's delicate ecosystems and ensure visitor safety during periods of extreme drought and high temperatures, prohibited all open flames. This meant no campfires, charcoal grills, wood-burning stoves, or any other activity that could produce a spark outside of enclosed vehicles or developed recreation sites.
