WWE RAW’s August 31 Episode Hits a Netflix Low — A Live Show From Mexico City Is on the Horizon

The August 31 episode pulled roughly 1.8 million global streams or fewer – barely enough to compete with the week’s #10 show, “Earl Meets World: Season 1,” which logged the same figure. That’s down from RAW’s previous low of 2.0 million streams set on June 1, and it’s now the poorest‑performing episode in the show’s 20‑month Netflix history.

What did the show actually contain? It was taped the Friday before in Cleveland, Ohio, and featured the finals of the World Heavyweight Title No. 1 Contender’s Tournament. Roman Reigns stopped by for a promo and a heated confrontation with Penta, adding a little star power to an otherwise modest card.

But the disappointment might be short‑lived. WWE has announced a special live broadcast from Mexico City on September 14, 2026 – the first RAW from the country in fifteen years. The event will air on Netflix straight from the Arena CDMX and is billed as a historic moment for the red brand.

The Mexico City card is already shaping up to be a packed one. Roman Reigns will finally get his World Heavyweight Championship bout with Penta, while Chad Gable puts his Intercontinental Title on the line against Dragon Lee.
