Their priority was swift action: an offensive attack was launched, pushing back against the blaze while simultaneously confirming that all occupants had safely evacuated the premises.

Within a remarkably short period, the dedicated teams managed to bring the inferno under control, declaring the fire out at 1:49 a.m.

While one individual was assessed by WFPS paramedics at the scene, they fortunately declined transport to the hospital, a testament to the quick response. At approximately 2:20 a.m., WFPS crews were dispatched to an apartment fire in the 300 block of Kennedy Street. Upon arrival, the situation was equally, if not more, challenging. Heavy smoke poured from the building, and firefighters quickly identified the source: an active fire blazing on the third floor, extending even to the exterior of the structure.

Again, the immediate focus was on resident safety.

Crews worked efficiently to ensure all occupants were evacuated from the affected building. Battling both interior and exterior flames, the WFPS teams showcased exceptional skill and coordination, bringing the fire under control by 2:56 a.m. The aftermath saw WFPS paramedics attending to two individuals on site.

One person required transportation to the hospital, where they are currently in stable condition, a relief amidst the chaos.

Similar to the Salter Street incident, the precise cause of the Kennedy Street apartment fire is currently under thorough investigation. Damage estimates for this property are also pending.
