Wethersfield Resident Charged with Attempted Sexual Coercion of a 13‑Year‑Old Boy

On June 26, 2026, federal agents say Amily Colon – a 31‑year‑old woman who lives in Wethersfield, Connecticut – boarded a car in Long Island, New York, picked up a 13‑year‑old boy she’d been chatting with on Discord, and drove him back to her home in Connecticut.

According to the complaint, the boy had first sent Colon an explicit video. In turn, Colon, who used the online handle “Alice,” allegedly replied with her own graphic images and video. The two continued talking, and, as the federal complaint alleges, Colon tried to convince the youngster to engage in sexual activity once he arrived at her house.

When the boy allegedly refused, Colon is said to have taken him back to Long Island the next day, dropping him a few blocks from his own home. The whole episode, investigators say, was captured through screenshots, text messages and the online platform itself.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut, led by David X. Sullivan, announced that Colon now faces two counts – attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, and transportation of a minor to engage in sexual activity. Each count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years, and the potential penalty can rise to life in prison.

Colon was arrested on the same day the alleged incident took place and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas O. Farrish in Hartford, where the judge ordered her detention pending further proceedings. The investigation was a joint effort involving the FBI’s New Haven Child Exploitation Task Force, the FBI Long Island Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, Suffolk County Police and the Wethersfield Police Department.

At this point, no trial has occurred and Colon remains innocent until proven guilty. The case underscores the ongoing challenges law‑enforcement faces in tracking online predators who exploit the anonymity of chat apps to target children.
