Violent Incident on Brightside Avenue: Man Hospitalized After Attack With a Knife‑Like Weapon in Stittsville

Police were dispatched to Brightside Avenue in Stittsville just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday after a neighbour heard a frantic shout and called 911. When officers arrived they found a 32‑year‑old man on the ground, bleeding from a wound to his abdomen.

According to the attending paramedics, the injury was caused by an edged weapon – essentially a knife or a similar sharp implement. The victim was quickly stabilised on‑scene and then rushed to the Ottawa Hospital for further treatment. Hospital officials say his condition is serious but stable, and he remains under observation.
