Vinayaka Chavithi: CM Revanth Reddy Prays for Telangana’s Well‑Being

On Monday, the streets of Hyderabad were alive with the echo of drums and chants as devotees celebrated Vinayaka Chavithi, the festival that honors Lord Ganesha – the beloved remover of obstacles.

Among the throngs, Telangana’s Chief Minister Revanth Reddy arrived with his wife and children, all dressed in traditional attire. The family took part in a simple yet heartfelt Ganapati puja at the official residence, offering flowers, incense and sweets to the deity.

During the ceremony, the CM bowed his head and quietly prayed for the eradication of hurdles that might be hindering the lives of ordinary citizens. He asked the elephant‑headed god for health, prosperity and success for every household across the state.

“May Lord Ganesha guide us through difficult times and bring happiness to every corner of Telangana,” he said, his voice a mix of solemnity and optimism. The words were met with warm applause from those present and were later shared widely on social media.

Vinayaka Chavithi, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a ten‑day affair that begins with the ‘Chaturthi’ and culminates on ‘Anantha Chaturdashi.’ Across India, people install clay idols of Ganesha at homes and public pandals, fast, sing devotional songs, and enjoy special sweets like modak.

Political leaders from various parties have also joined the festivities, performing aarti at party headquarters and extending good wishes to the public. The atmosphere, however, remains rooted in faith and community spirit rather than politics.

As the festival continues, crowds are expected to flock to famous temples such as the Shree Sai Baba Ganapati Temple in Secunderabad, while families across Telangana prepare elaborate meals and exchange gifts.

For the Chief Minister, the puja was not just a ritual but a reminder of his responsibility to address the obstacles faced by his people – be it unemployment, agricultural distress, or infrastructural challenges. He pledged to work tirelessly, hoping that the blessings of Lord Ganesha would guide his administration.

As night falls, illuminated lanterns flicker outside pandals, and the resonance of conch shells mingles with the distant beat of dhols, signalling that the celebrations are just beginning.
