Uttarakhand Rolls Out Free Online Coaching Scheme for Competitive Exams

On Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami unveiled a fresh initiative that many youngsters have been waiting for – the Mukhyamantri Yuva Bhavishya Nirman Yojana. In plain words, the scheme promises free online coaching and study material for a host of competitive examinations, from the civil services to banking, railways, defence and even postgraduate entrance tests like CAT and GATE.

What’s striking is that the program is being rolled out across every university, government and aided college in the state. Students can log in from their homes – a relief for those living in the hilly, hard‑to‑reach corners of Uttarakhand who would otherwise have to trek to big cities just to find decent coaching.

The idea, according to the Chief Minister’s Office, is simple: talent shouldn’t be shackled by money. By offering expert guidance at zero cost, the government hopes to level the playing field, giving bright minds the chance to chase their dreams without worrying about coaching fees.

Alongside the education push, Dhami also took care of another pressing need – financial security for the state’s senior citizens and vulnerable groups. Using a one‑click payment system from his camp office, he approved the August 2026 pension disbursement, sending ₹147.05 crore straight into the bank accounts of 9,91,914 beneficiaries.

In addition, the Social Welfare Department sanctioned pensions for 5,605 new beneficiaries this month, expanding the safety net further. Dhami emphasized that timely, hassle‑free pension delivery is a top priority, urging officials to handle any implementation hiccups with sensitivity.

Both moves – the free‑coaching scheme and the massive pension payout – reflect the government’s twin focus on empowerment: equipping the youth with knowledge and tools for a brighter future, while ensuring the elderly and needy are not left behind.
