On a quiet Saturday night in the tiny village of Bijrari, near Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh, a family’s routine shattered into a nightmare. Manisha, eight months pregnant, tried to calm her husband, Hanif Mansoori, after he staggered home heavily intoxicated.
