Uttar Pradesh Rolls Out One Lakh New Jobs for Youth under Mission Rojgar

Lucknow – On a crisp Saturday morning, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stood on the stage of Lok Bhawan auditorium and handed out appointment letters to 818 freshly selected youngsters. The event marked the official launch of the next phase of “Mission Rojgar”, a state‑run drive that aims to slot more than one lakh youths into government posts over the coming six months.

“Let the critics keep counting,” the CM said with a grin, directing his remarks at opposition leaders who have been vocal about the government’s employment record. “We’ll keep handing out letters – today for three departments, tomorrow for a thousand more, and so on, without pause.”

He laid out a detailed roadmap. About 36,000 recruits are slated for the Uttar Pradesh Police, while another 41,000‑42,000 will join the Home Guards. The medical and physical examinations for these aspirants are already underway.

Beyond the uniformed services, the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) will release results that could open doors for another 25,000‑30,000 candidates in the next six months. A further batch of 20,000‑25,000 is expected in three to four months, as the commission gears up for its upcoming recruitment cycle.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is also in the mix, with an anticipated 15,000‑16,000 appointments across various departments after its examinations conclude.

When asked about the political undercurrents that often swirl around such large‑scale hiring drives, Adityanath emphasized the importance of keeping commissions insulated from partisan pressure. “When the boards operate with integrity, the results speak for themselves,” he said, praising the officials of UPPSC and UPSSSC for their professionalism.

According to the CM, the state has already placed about 9.5 lakh youths in government jobs since he took office. He reminded the audience that the 2017 elections marked a turning point when a new government pledged to rejuvenate employment opportunities, aligning Mission Rojgar with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s broader vision of skill‑based, inclusive growth.

With a short film on Mission Rojgar projected on the auditorium screen, the ceremony concluded on a hopeful note. The promise is clear: if the announced numbers hold, Uttar Pradesh could see its youth employment numbers swell dramatically, delivering on a pledge that has been a cornerstone of the current administration’s agenda.
