Uttar Pradesh, once perceived differently, has dramatically transformed itself, emerging as a leading state in India for Ease of Doing Business (EoDB). This remarkable journey was highlighted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the 'Destination Uttar Pradesh' event in Lucknow, where he proudly declared the state's monumental leap from the 14th position to an impressive second in national EoDB rankings over just six years.

The Chief Minister’s address underscored the state's robust economic resurgence.

He revealed that during the Global Investors Summit (GIS)-2023, Uttar Pradesh attracted an astounding Rs 40 lakh crore in investment proposals, a testament to its newfound appeal to both domestic and international investors. These investments are projected to generate a staggering 1.10 crore employment opportunities, promising a brighter future for millions of its citizens.

Adityanath further elaborated on UP's growing economic prowess, stating that the state's contribution to India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has surged from a mere 8% to a significant 15%.

This unprecedented growth has also led to a doubling of the per capita income, directly impacting the lives of ordinary people. The state's economy, which once ranked 10th in the nation, has now climbed to the second position, solidifying its status as a major economic powerhouse.

A key factor in this economic renaissance has been the government's unwavering commitment to strengthening law and order.

Adityanath emphasized that a secure environment is the bedrock of industrial growth and investment. This focus has not only attracted big industries but also fostered a conducive ecosystem for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which are crucial for employment generation at the grassroots level.

Initiatives like the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme have further empowered local artisans and entrepreneurs, enabling them to showcase their unique products on a global stage.

The state has also made significant strides in improving its connectivity infrastructure. With an extensive network of expressways and a growing number of airports, including the upcoming international airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh is strategically positioning itself as a logistical hub.

Adityanath lauded the contributions of various industrial development authorities such as Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), and State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO) for their pivotal role in driving industrial growth and creating world-class industrial zones.

He reiterated the state's ambitious target of achieving a USD 1 trillion economy, a goal that now appears well within reach given the current trajectory of growth and development.
