Urgent Search Underway for Missing Boater in Fort Resolution Waters

An extensive and urgent search operation is currently unfolding near Fort Resolution, Northwest Territories, as RCMP and local partners race against time to locate a missing boater. The community is on edge, holding out hope for the safe return of a 62-year-old man, Joseph Boucher, who was reported missing on Tuesday, June 25th, after failing to return from a trip on Great Slave Lake.

Boucher was last seen venturing out onto the vast expanse of Great Slave Lake in his distinct small aluminium boat.

Concerns mounted when he did not return as expected, prompting immediate action from authorities. The RCMP in Fort Resolution launched their search efforts without delay, coordinating a comprehensive response to cover as much ground—or rather, water—as possible.
