Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol Vehemently Rejects Jain Property Allegations, Challenges Accuser

Pune, India – A heated political confrontation has erupted in Pune, as Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol has vehemently and unequivocally refuted allegations linking him to a controversial 22-acre land deal involving a Jain community property. The accusations, leveled by prominent farmer leader Raju Shetti, have been dismissed by Mohol as "baseless," "malicious," and politically motivated, prompting him to threaten severe legal action.

The controversy centers on the sale of a significant land parcel belonging to the Jain community, a transaction that Shetti publicly labelled a "land scam" and accused Mohol of orchestrating.

Speaking to reporters, Mohol expressed his profound disappointment and anger over what he described as a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation and create unnecessary confusion among the public.

Mohol clarified his limited and legitimate involvement, explaining that his role pertained solely to a decision made during his tenure as chairman of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) standing committee in 2017-18.

"I had no way involved with the purchase of the Jain property," Mohol asserted with conviction. "My connection was restricted to the approval of transfer of development rights (TDR) for a mere 2.42 acres of the land, which was reserved for road construction. This process began years ago, long before I even became an MP, and was a standard procedure for urban development."

He further elaborated, "The entire property spans 22 acres.

Only a small fraction of it was earmarked for a public road, and the PMC, under my chairmanship at the time, simply approved the TDR for that specific portion. The remaining 19-plus acres were private property, sold by its owners through standard market mechanisms. To suggest that I 'orchestrated' the sale of the entire 22 acres is not only false but utterly preposterous." Mohol emphasized that his public life has always been dedicated to the betterment of society, not personal enrichment through property dealings.

The Union Minister did not mince words when addressing Shetti directly, stating, "Raju Shetti has been consistently making wild and baseless allegations, without an iota of evidence.

He needs to stop this smear campaign immediately. If he continues to spread such falsehoods, I will be compelled to pursue all available legal avenues to protect my name and reputation." Mohol also pointed out that Shetti's accusations often surface before elections, implying political opportunism.

In response to Mohol's strong denial, Raju Shetti reiterated his challenge to the Union Minister, demanding that Mohol disclose his assets before and after becoming a Member of Parliament.
