Trump Nominates Lindsey Halligan for Key U.S. Attorney Role in Virginia

President Donald Trump has unveiled a significant move in the nation's legal landscape, signaling his intent to nominate Lindsey Halligan as the next U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia. Currently, she serves as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s 10th Judicial Circuit, a role she has held with distinction since 2013. Her extensive experience in prosecution began even earlier, with a tenure as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s 12th Judicial Circuit from 2011 to 2013.

Prior to her prosecutorial roles, Halligan honed her courtroom skills as a Public Defender in Florida from 2010 to 2011, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the justice system from multiple vantage points.

Academically, Halligan is a proud alumna of Florida State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree.

She further solidified her legal foundations by obtaining her Juris Doctor from the prestigious Stetson University College of Law. Joshua S. Levy has been designated for the role of U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, while Todd S. Kim is slated to become the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
