Working hand‑in‑hand with local installer Venergy Solar, Trina delivered 200 of its 500 W Vertex S+ panels (model NEG18R.28). The modules, built on n‑type i‑TOPCon cell technology, promise high efficiency, low degradation and a lightweight, medium‑format design that makes the most of every square centimetre of rooftop space.

“The National Wine Centre shows the range of considerations that can come into play in commercial solar, especially for prominent buildings where space and design matter,” said Edison Zhou, Head of Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands at Trina Solar. “Vertex S+ combines strong power output with a practical format, giving installers flexibility to maximise the roof area.”

Matthew Wilkins, founder and CEO of Venergy Solar, echoed that sentiment. “Because of the roof geometry and the visibility of the site, we spent a lot of time modelling how the system would sit across the two buildings,” he explained. “The Vertex S+ gave us the power output and format we needed to work within those design parameters while keeping the panels largely concealed from public view.”

For the venue’s management, the project is more than a technical win. “Sustainability is a core part of how we see the National Wine Centre evolving,” said General Manager Simon Burgess. “Investing in solar fits our broader focus on operational efficiency, responsible asset management and reducing our environmental impact without compromising the visitor experience.”

With a 100 kW capacity, the new rooftop system is set to generate clean electricity that will power events, lighting and climate control throughout the centre, reinforcing Adelaide’s reputation as a forward‑thinking, green city.
