Tragic Murder in Hardoi: Husband Slits Sleeping Wife’s Throat and Severes Her Head Over Alleged Affair

Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh woke up to a nightmare on the night of September 9, when a 38‑year‑old man named Parvez allegedly turned on his own wife while she was fast asleep. The victim, 28‑year‑old Nagma, had been married to Parvez for almost twelve years, but his growing paranoia about a supposed extra‑marital affair ended in a gruesome tragedy.

According to police, the couple had moved into a rented house in the Islamnagar‑Tiliya locality only a month and a half earlier, after Parvez sold an ancestral plot amid a family split. Neighbours say the pair often argued, and the husband was incessantly accusing Nagma of speaking to another man on the phone.

That evening, as Nagma lay in bed, Parvez allegedly grabbed a sharp instrument, repeatedly stabbed her and slit her throat. The assault was so savage that, as reported by local media, her head was later found detached from her body. After the murder, Parvez reportedly walked straight to the nearest police station, turned himself in and confessed to the killing.

When officers arrived at the scene, they recovered the blood‑stained body and sent it for a post‑mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing, with detectives trying to locate the weapon used. Parvez has been arrested and is being questioned.

Nagma’s family says the violence did not happen out of the blue. Her sister Sabbo told reporters that Parvez had threatened to kill her multiple times, even mentioning that he would “slit her throat.” She added that the family members of the accused were present in the same house, and a blood‑stained undershirt was discovered in the adjoining room.

Mother Zahida also accused Parvez and his relatives of a sustained campaign of harassment and intimidation against her daughter in the days leading up to the murder. The family’s statements suggest a pattern of domestic abuse that may have escalated to the fatal blow.

Police have registered a case of murder and are probing the extent of any involvement by the accused’s siblings or in‑laws. The community is left reeling, grappling with the shocking details of a crime that began with suspicion and ended in a nightmarish act of violence.
