Tragic Motorcycle Accident Claims Life in Westwood, Massachusetts

A devastating motorcycle crash in Westwood, Massachusetts, on the evening of August 14, 2025, has resulted in the death of a male rider following a collision with a pickup truck. Emergency services were dispatched to Route 1A near the intersection with High Street shortly after 7:30 PM, where they found a chaotic scene involving two severely damaged vehicles.

Massachusetts State Police have identified the victim as 42-year-old Michael J.

Thompson of Norwood. Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The driver of the 2023 Ford F-150 pickup truck, identified as 55-year-old David R. Miller of Dedham, was reportedly uninjured but visibly shaken. He remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the motorcycle, a 2022 Harley-Davidson, was traveling southbound on Route 1A when it collided with the northbound pickup truck attempting to make a left turn onto High Street.

Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes well into the early morning hours of August 15. The road was fully reopened just before 2:00 AM.
