Tragic Loss: Fatal Pedestrian Collision Shakes Steinbach Community

Steinbach, MB – A cloud of sorrow hangs over the community of Steinbach following a devastating vehicle-pedestrian collision that claimed a life in the early hours of Sunday morning. Local RCMP are now leading a comprehensive investigation into the tragic incident that unfolded on Highway 52.

The collision occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m.

on Sunday, April 14, near the intersection of Ridge Road, a stretch of Highway 52 known to be busy. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene after reports of a serious accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed the worst. A 29-year-old male pedestrian, a resident of Steinbach, was pronounced deceased at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

The vehicle involved was a sedan, driven by a 36-year-old male, also from Steinbach. Authorities have confirmed that the driver remained at the scene following the collision and cooperated fully with law enforcement.

Thankfully, the driver did not sustain any physical injuries from the incident.
