Tragic End for Newlywed Dominick Bianchi After Vanishing in Upstate New York

Dominick Bianchi, a 35‑year‑old newly‑married man from East Greenbush, was discovered dead Saturday in a wooded parcel just south of Albany, authorities confirmed Sunday night. The discovery comes a week after he vanished on a Tuesday morning, leaving his cellphone, wallet and car parked at home.

Friends and family had been frantic, posting pleas on social media and urging anyone who might have seen him to come forward. His wife, Julianna Zyra, whom he married only months earlier, repeatedly begged him to return, noting that he had been battling mental‑health issues and struggled with type 1 diabetes.

“The East Greenbush Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Dominick’s family, loved ones, and all those affected by this tragic loss,” said Detective Sergeant Michael Guadagnino in a statement. “Our thoughts are with them as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.”

Police had canvassed the neighborhood, asking residents to check their properties and surveillance footage for any clue. In a later bulletin, detectives thanked the community for the “sincere gratitude” shown by those who helped the investigation.
