Tragic Discovery at Brooklyn’s Plumb Beach: Woman’s Body Found in Trash Can

On Wednesday afternoon, around 3 p.m., a 911 call led officers to the parking lot of Plumb Beach in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. What they found was far from the usual beach‑goers and kite‑boarders that frequent the spot – a trash can, its lid slightly ajar, and inside, a woman lying motionless.

First‑responders quickly determined the woman was unresponsive. EMTs on the scene tried to revive her, but she was pronounced dead on site. The body was wrapped in a plain white sheet, an unsettling contrast to the sandy shoreline just a short walk away.

Police have not released a name; the woman remains unidentified. Investigators photographed the scene, collected evidence from the trash can, and noted the surrounding area – a small peninsula jutting out from Sheepshead Bay, across the Rockaway Inlet from Breezy Point.
