Tragedy Strikes Northern BC Highway

It’s a scene no one ever wants to imagine: a major highway, an overturned heavy vehicle, and the grim reality of lives irrevocably changed. Early reports out of northern British Columbia confirm just such a tragedy, as a single-vehicle incident involving a loaded semi-truck on Highway 97 has, sadly, claimed two lives.

The accident, which unfolded just north of Prince George, specifically near the quiet community of Bear Lake, saw a commercial transport truck veer off the roadway under circumstances that investigators are still working diligently to piece together. Both individuals who were inside the truck at the time, whose identities have not yet been publicly released, tragically perished as a result of the collision. It’s truly a devastating outcome for all involved.

RCMP, with the BC Highway Patrol taking the lead, are conducting a thorough investigation into the crash, working closely alongside the BC Coroners Service.
