Tragedy Strikes Kamloops: Three Lives Lost in Weekend Motorcycle Crashes and Drowning Incidents

Preliminary information gathered from witnesses indicates that a pickup truck, which was pulling a fifth-wheel trailer, was involved in the accident.

The driver of the pickup truck was subsequently issued a violation ticket for failing to yield while making a left turn. Investigators believe the motorcycle was traveling eastbound at the time of the impact. The RCMP are again reaching out to the public, especially those who were traveling on Highway 1 near Leigh Road on Sunday afternoon and might possess crucial dashcam footage or witnessed the collision, to assist their ongoing investigation.

Adding to the weekend's sorrow, a drowning incident at Paul Lake also occurred on Saturday, June 1, around 6:45 p.m.

Emergency services rushed to the boat launch area following reports of a man in distress in the water. Witnesses recounted seeing the individual standing in chest-deep water moments before he suddenly disappeared beneath the surface. Though bystanders managed to pull the man from the lake and he was swiftly transported to a local hospital, he tragically passed away shortly thereafter.
