There’s always that one guy

I used to be a regular Republican voter – you know, the kind who showed up at the polls year after year, thinking the party represented my values. Then, quite abruptly, Donald Trump showed up, and everything seemed to go sideways. It felt like watching a well‑kept house suddenly get a wild party you never signed up for.

Now I’m waiting for the day the party pulls itself together, finds the compass it once had, and starts speaking to folks like me again. Until then, I’ve taken to putting the names of all the candidates on the wall and, honestly, throwing a dart at them. We’ve let one guy mess with a system that’s supposed to give us a choice – and that’s a tragedy I’m not ready to accept without a little chance, however random, of a better pick.
