The Search is On: Bandi Bageerath Eludes Police After Bail Rejection

The Cyberabad police force is currently engaged in a wide-ranging search operation, meticulously combing through Hyderabad and Karimnagar. Their target? None other than Bandi Bageerath, son of prominent BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar. This intensified hunt comes on the heels of a significant legal development: the Kukatpally court's firm rejection of his pre-arrest bail plea. It's a clear signal that authorities are taking the allegations against him very seriously indeed.

So, what exactly sparked this whole situation? It all stems from a rather unsettling incident that unfolded on February 20. Reports indicate that Bageerath is accused of assaulting a woman, identified as M. Keerthi, within the confines of a gated community situated near Kothaguda on the city's outskirts. The alleged altercation, unfortunately, led to Ms. Keerthi falling and sustaining injuries. It’s certainly not the kind of news anyone wants to hear coming from a usually peaceful residential area.

Following the complaint, the police wasted no time, registering a case against Bageerath under some pretty serious sections of the Indian Penal Code: Section 324 for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 506 for criminal intimidation. These aren't minor charges, highlighting the potential severity of the incident. With the pre-arrest bail plea now firmly off the table, the police have truly stepped up their efforts. Multiple specialized teams have been deployed, tasked with the sole objective of locating and apprehending him.

Their search efforts have been quite thorough, reaching various potential hideouts. Initially, officers reportedly visited Bageerath’s residence, but he wasn’t there, leaving them empty-handed. Not deterred, the teams then broadened their scope, extending their search all the way to Karimnagar, where they reportedly checked his grandparents' house. Yet, despite these efforts, Bageerath remains elusive, a ghost in the system for now.

Interestingly, this isn't Bageerath’s first tango with legal troubles. He's previously found himself in hot water, having been booked in a separate case involving an altercation at a university. This prior incident, while distinct, does add a layer of context to the current situation, raising questions about a pattern of behaviour. For now, however, the focus remains squarely on the current allegations and the ongoing, determined effort by the Cyberabad police to bring him in.
