The Man Behind the Slap: Delhi CM Attacker Revealed as a 'Dog Lover' Grappling with Personal Woes

The recent public assault on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, where he was reportedly slapped during a roadshow, has thrust the spotlight onto his assailant, Rajesh Bhai Sakariya. While the act itself was audacious, the narrative surrounding Sakariya is far more intricate than a simple act of political aggression.

His mother, in a poignant revelation, has painted a picture of a man burdened by personal strife, describing him as a devoted dog lover grappling with profound depression and financial woes.

According to his mother, who spoke to the media from their home in West Delhi's Moti Nagar, Rajesh Bhai Sakariya's actions stem from a deep-seated unhappiness.

She claims her son, a former general store owner, has been struggling significantly with financial difficulties. Adding to his distress, a love marriage that failed to materialize left him heartbroken and mentally distraught. This portrayal attempts to peel back the layers of a public attacker, revealing a troubled individual behind the headlines, struggling with mental health issues that, according to his mother, have been exacerbated by his personal circumstances.

The Sakariya family's journey to Delhi began approximately 25 years ago, relocating from Surendranagar in Gujarat.

While Rajesh's father passed away some years prior, his mother, sister, and brother reside in separate homes within the same Moti Nagar area. His sister is married, and his brother manages a small business, indicating a family dispersed yet connected within the bustling city. The mother’s plea for understanding, emphasizing his love for dogs and his internal battles, offers a stark contrast to the aggressive public image.

This recent incident isn't Sakariya's first confrontation with the Delhi Chief Minister.

His history includes at least two prior public acts targeting Kejriwal. In 2019, he gained notoriety for throwing chili powder at the CM inside the Delhi Secretariat, a shocking breach of security. Following that incident, police reports indicated that Sakariya was suffering from a "mental health problem" and was undergoing treatment.

Before that, in 2016, he had also thrown shoes at Kejriwal during a press conference in the capital, showcasing a pattern of confrontational behavior towards the leader.

Sakariya himself has claimed a past association with the Aam Aadmi Sena, an offshoot group formed by disgruntled former members of the Aam Aadmi Party.

He reportedly stated that his grievances against Kejriwal stemmed from the Chief Minister's alleged failure to fulfill promises made to the public. This political angle, however, is now intertwined with the deeply personal struggles revealed by his mother, creating a multifaceted portrait of a man driven by a complex mix of personal despair and perceived political disillusionment.
