Windsor police are currently on the hunt for a significant quantity of missing meat after a brazen early morning theft saw a truck trailer loaded with approximately $30,000 worth of beef roasts vanish from a commercial lot. The unusual heist unfolded on Thursday, June 13, leaving investigators with a puzzling case and a local food service company facing a substantial loss.

The incident began around 4:30 a.m.

when suspects made their way into a fenced compound located in the 1000 block of Ellis Street East. Demonstrating a clear intent and possibly prior reconnaissance, the culprits efficiently hooked up to a waiting trailer, which was brimming with high-value beef roasts, before making their getaway into the pre-dawn darkness.

The stolen trailer belonged to St.

Clair Food Service, a local purveyor. The theft represents not just a loss of product but a significant disruption to their operations and supply chain.
