Terrifying Ordeal: Bengaluru Woman Sexually Harassed and Robbed at Knifepoint in PG

A chilling incident has sent shockwaves through Bengaluru, as a young woman residing in a Paying Guest (PG) accommodation in Marathahalli was subjected to a horrific ordeal of sexual harassment and robbery at knifepoint. The terrifying event unfolded when an unknown assailant, exploiting a lapse in security, gained entry into her room, leaving the victim traumatized and raising serious questions about the safety of residents in such accommodations.

According to reports, the incident occurred during daylight hours, around 1:30 PM.

The predator, a male stranger, reportedly managed to infiltrate the PG premises by posing as a delivery person or a maintenance worker, a common ruse used to bypass security checks. Once inside, he located the victim's room and forcefully entered, confronting her with a terrifying display of aggression.

The victim's harrowing experience involved being held at knifepoint, a weapon brandished to instill fear and compliance.

Under duress, she was subjected to sexual harassment before the assailant proceeded to rob her of valuables. He fled the scene with cash, a mobile phone, and other personal belongings, leaving the woman in a state of shock and distress.

Following the traumatic incident, the brave woman immediately approached the HAL Police Station to lodge a formal complaint.

Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges of sexual harassment and robbery. Police investigations are currently underway, with teams meticulously examining available CCTV footage from the PG and surrounding areas in a bid to identify the perpetrator and piece together his escape route.

This incident serves as a stark and distressing reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by individuals, particularly women, living in shared accommodations like PGs.
