Telangana Constable Killer Shot Dead by Police After Pistol Snatch Attempt in Dramatic Encounter

In a dramatic and intense development, Polnati Yadagiri, the notorious individual wanted in connection with the brutal murder of a police constable, was shot dead by law enforcement officials in Telangana. The fatal encounter occurred after Yadagiri reportedly attempted to snatch a police officer's pistol while in custody, leading to officers opening fire in self-defense.

The incident unfolded following an extensive manhunt for Yadagiri, who was the prime suspect in the killing of constable Y Muthyalu.

Constable Muthyalu was tragically attacked and murdered on April 27 in Hyderabad's SR Nagar area while diligently performing his duty, sending shockwaves through the police force and the community.

Police tracked Yadagiri to a dense forest region near Yadagiri Gutta, where he was apprehended after a meticulous operation.

Following his capture, he was being transported from the forest area towards Nizamabad. It was during this transit that the critical incident occurred. According to police reports, Yadagiri made a sudden and desperate attempt to overpower an officer and snatch their service pistol.

Faced with a direct threat to their lives and the safety of the operation, the accompanying police personnel were compelled to retaliate.

In the ensuing struggle, officers opened fire, resulting in Yadagiri succumbing to his injuries on the spot. This marked the culmination of a tense search for a man considered highly dangerous, with authorities having announced a substantial reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to his arrest.

Authorities have confirmed that Polnati Yadagiri had a significant criminal history, including a prior conviction for another murder, for which he had already served a prison sentence.
