TDP MLA Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy slams YSRCP over ‘axe’ attacks on newly hired teachers

At a bustling press briefing in Mangalagiri, TDP spokesperson and MLA Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy let loose on the YSRCP, saying the party is still wielding its metaphorical "axe" against the fresh batch of Mega DSC teachers. He claimed the ruling outfit is busy trying to trip up these newcomers instead of giving them a warm welcome.

Reddy didn’t hold back when he turned his gaze toward former chief minister and YSRCP supremo Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. According to the TDP lawmaker, the chief minister has been practicing a "politics of death," breaking more than 150 promises after begging the people of Andhra Pradesh for a single chance to govern.

He even went further, asserting that during Jagan’s five‑year tenure the state failed to recruit a single teacher, leaving countless youths dangling on what Reddy called "fake job calendars" that never materialised.

In stark contrast, Reddy praised Education Minister Nara Lokesh for delivering on his Yuva Galam pledge – recruiting 16,347 teachers in just 148 days, a feat he described as "transparent" and "record‑breaking." The MLA said the new teachers, many of whom idolise the late APJ Abdul Kalam, deserve applause, not the "harassment" the opposition allegedly dishes out.

According to Reddy, the YSRCP filed more than 300 petitions to derail the Mega DSC recruitment, but the courts brushed them aside. He portrayed the recruitment drive as a lifeline for hard‑working youngsters, an opportunity the ruling party supposedly wants to snatch away.

The criticism didn’t stop at education. Reddy piled on the YSRCP for alleged failures in employment generation, a botched liquor policy that he says cost over 30,000 lives, and a stagnant irrigation sector that didn’t add a single new acre of irrigated land during its term.

He also accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of stoking caste and regional divides, arguing that the chief minister simply can’t stand seeing people living peacefully.

On the flip side, the TDP MLA hailed the current Chandrababu Naidu‑Nara Lokesh alliance for courting investment, creating jobs, and racing to complete 36 critical irrigation projects, including Veligonda, the North Andhra Canal and Polavaram.

Wrapping up, Reddy dismissed the YSRCP as a "drama company" that relies on "stones and rooster knives," insisting that the party has no moral standing to question the present government’s work. He called on citizens to back the Naidu‑Lokesh team, which he says is pushing the state's economy forward with its "Super Six" welfare schemes.
