Sudbury Man Hunted After Days of Alleged Crime Spree

There's a serious situation unfolding in Greater Sudbury, as local police are actively searching for a 39-year-old man wanted in connection with an alleged two-day crime spree that has residents understandably concerned. Patrick Robert Michael Leclair is the individual authorities are keen to locate, and they're asking for the public's help to bring him in safely.

The alleged string of incidents reportedly kicked off on Sunday, June 9th. Picture this: it’s just a little after 9:30 in the morning, a time when most folks are perhaps enjoying a quiet breakfast or getting ready for the day. That’s when Leclair is believed to have entered a home in the Donovan area. Imagine the shock and fright for the homeowner, who actually confronted the intruder! Leclair, rather than staying put, reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle. It turns out, that vehicle was later reported stolen – a detail that adds another layer to this developing story.

But the alleged spree didn't end there for the day. Just a few hours later, around 1:30 p.m., that very same stolen vehicle, believed to be operated by Leclair, was involved in a hit-and-run collision near the iconic Big Nickel Mine. While thankfully no one suffered serious injuries in the crash, the damage to the other vehicle was significant. Again, the driver, allegedly Leclair, didn’t stick around, choosing instead to flee the scene on foot.

The following day, Monday, June 10th, brought yet another alleged incident. Early in the morning, around 5:45 a.m., a commercial business in New Sudbury was broken into. And guess what? Police suspect Leclair was involved in this too, reportedly making off with various items of merchandise. It really paints a picture of someone incredibly active over a short, intense period.

Naturally, the Greater Sudbury Police Service has been tirelessly investigating these various occurrences. As a result of their work, warrants have now been issued for Leclair's arrest. He's facing a hefty list of potential charges, including two counts of Break and Enter, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle, Failing to Remain at the scene of an accident, Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, and two counts of Breach of Probation. That’s quite a tally.

Leclair is described as being 5’10” tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
