Star Citizen's 'Everything Pack' Costs $48,000

Despite being unfinished after more than ten years of development, this unnamed video game has a multitude of pricey ships that players can purchase and operate. For those desiring the complete fleet contained in a large DLC pack, be prepared to shell out upwards of $48,000. This game was first announced back in 2012, before the Sony PS4 or Xbox One hit the market. It was a time when Obama was still in office and Disney was on the verge of acquiring Lucasfilm to produce more Star Wars films. Since then, developer Roberts Space Industries has made several promises, and despite the game remaining incomplete, much of the promised content has been delivered. Furthermore, the game has grossed over an undisclosed amount. Now, if you’ve been contemplating contributing to this never-ending project, there’s a new, extravagant opportunity for you. The 2023 Legatus Ship pack is now available for purchase. For a few years now, starting in 2018, RSI has been releasing these extensive packs that grant access to all ships and upgrades, all of which have been quite costly. Last year's pack was priced at $40,000 while this year's pack saw a price increase to $42,000. The latest 2023 pack has witnessed another price surge and may include over 175 ships and a plethora of mods and upgrades, but is the cost worth an average annual salary? That’s something I don’t agree with, but then again, I’m not a part of the obsessed RSI fan base that endlessly defends the game’s ludicrous pricing and disorderly development. Adding to the absurdity is the fact that the $48,000 pack can’t be purchased directly unless you've spent a certain amount in the game, which comes out to be over $1,000. So, if you’re a newcomer who wants it all, you’re really looking at a $49,000 price tag. Alternatively, you could spend that money on 800 different $60 video games and potentially build a gaming fort out of them.
