Sonam Kapoor dropped new pictures of herself dressed in an ethnic ensemble on Instagram and garnered several compliments from her followers. The actor's post featured her flaunting the traditional outfit and posing with her 'dapper date' Anand Ahuja. Scroll down to see the photos Sonam shared online.
(Instagram) Sonam captioned her post, "The most dapper date...I married a perfect gentleman." The actor wore a saree, silk blouse, and an embroidered waistcoat for the photoshoot. The ensemble is from the shelves of designer Ritu Kumar's eponymous label. It is the perfect sartorial pick for the wedding season in winter.
You can uniquely layer the drape like Sonam did and be the star of the party. (Instagram) Sonam's Ritu Kumar saree comes in a mustard shade decked with gold kadhai, green patti borders, sequin embellishments, and a heavily embroidered border. Instead of draping the pallu of her six yards on the shoulder, the actor pleated and tucked it on her waist to give the illusion of a figure hugging skirt.
(Instagram) Sonam styled the saree with a silk blouse featuring embroidered patterns in rust brown and green shades, a round neckline, billowy full length sleeves, cinched cuffs, a relaxed fitting, and a waist length hem. She layered it with a black velvet waistcoat decked in gold and red brocade embroidery.
(Instagram) Sonam accessorised the quirky ethnic yet modern look with boho chic jewels, including oxidised silver bracelets, layered choker necklaces, and gem adorned earrings. Lastly, she chose winged eyeliner, subtle mauve eye shadow, glossy mauve lip shade, rouge on the cheekbones, feathered brows, dewy base, and highlighter on the contours.
A centre parted sleek bun rounded it off. (Instagram) Earlier, Sonam shared another ethnic look on Instagram. The post features a few shots of the actor with her sister and stylist Rhea Kapoor. Sonam's ensemble is a custom lehenga from the shelves of the clothing label Anavila. "A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost," Sonam had captioned the post.
(Instagram) Sonam wore a beige silk lehenga set decked in gold gota patti embroidery and floral kadhai in green, white and pink hues. While the choli has a round neckline, half length sleeves, and a fitted bust, the skirt has flowy layered ghera and dori ties. Lastly, the actor draped the dupatta on her shoulders to complete the traditional look.
(Instagram) Sonam accessorised the outfit with Kolhapuri sandals and gold and emerald jewellery, including a choker necklace, bangles, bracelets, jhumkis, rings, and a mang tika. In the end, she chose centre parted braided hairdo, kohl lined eyes, smoky eye shadow, feathered brows, mauve lip shade, blushed cheekbones, and highlighter on the contours for the glam picks.
