The whole situation began to unfold on Saturday, February 24th, when Rocanville RCMP members were tipped off about a stolen vehicle in the area. Now, responding to a report of a stolen car is one thing, but what they discovered next turned it into something much larger and, frankly, far more impactful for the community. You see, the investigation quickly escalated, leading officers to a property located in the Rural Municipality of Moosomin, just outside Rocanville itself.

It was at this location where police found not only the reported stolen vehicle but also a treasure trove of illegal substances and other ill-gotten gains. Among the seized items were quantities of crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl – substances that, let's be honest, cause immense harm and devastation in our communities. That's no small thing; removing those from circulation is a huge win. What's more, police also recovered a sum of Canadian currency and various other pieces of stolen property, not to mention the very vehicle that sparked this investigation.

Following this successful operation, the RCMP confirmed two arrests. Twenty-four-year-old Taylor T. Severs, hailing from Esterhazy, and 30-year-old Jessica A. Wanner, from Moosomin, are now facing a series of serious charges. These include possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and failing to comply with conditions. Both individuals have since appeared in court in Yorkton, on Monday, February 26th, to face these charges.
