Siddaramaiah Dispels Rumors: 'We Are Not Targeting RSS,' Karnataka CM Affirms

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has stepped forward to dispel growing speculation, firmly asserting that his government harbors no intention of specifically targeting the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In a direct and unequivocal statement, the CM sought to clarify his administration's stance amidst a backdrop of recent controversies, including an FIR against an RSS worker and significant changes to school textbooks.

"We are not targeting RSS," Siddaramaiah declared, addressing the media with a resolute tone.

He elaborated that the government's focus remains squarely on upholding the rule of law and ensuring peace across the state. The Chief Minister emphasized that any actions taken are directed against individuals or groups who take the law into their own hands, engage in moral policing, or attempt to disrupt communal harmony, rather than singling out any specific organization.

The clarification comes after concerns were raised following an FIR registered against RSS worker Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and the government's move to revise school textbooks that had been altered by the previous BJP government.

These actions had led to accusations from certain quarters that the new Congress administration was deliberately acting against Hindutva organizations.

Siddaramaiah strongly refuted these claims, stating, "We will not tolerate anyone taking law into their hands, whether it's moral policing or any other form of vigilantism.

Action will be taken against whoever indulges in such acts." This statement underscores his government's commitment to secular principles and impartial governance, irrespective of political or ideological affiliations.

Regarding the contentious textbook revisions, the Chief Minister reiterated that the decision to withdraw certain sections and form a new committee was based on expert recommendations aimed at ensuring educational content is accurate, inclusive, and free from ideological biases.

He clarified that this initiative is part of a broader effort to improve the quality of education, not a political vendetta against any group.

The CM's assertions aim to quell the brewing political storm and reassure various sections of society that his government is dedicated to a governance model based on constitutional principles, rather than partisan targeting.

He reaffirmed that maintaining peace, social harmony, and the strict enforcement of law and order are the paramount objectives, and no organization will be exempt from scrutiny if its members are found to be flouting legal statutes.
