Shocking Incident: Bengaluru College Classmates Booked for Allegedly Molesting Fellow Student

In a deeply disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through the academic community, two college students in Bengaluru have been booked by the police for allegedly molesting a female classmate. The alarming event unfolded on the evening of September 14, near the victim's paying guest (PG) accommodation in Vasanthapura, highlighting a grave concern for student safety even within peer circles.

According to reports from the Subramanyapura police, the victim, a 20-year-old engineering student, was returning to her PG around 10:30 PM.

It was then that her two classmates, identified as 20-year-old Tejas and a 17-year-old minor, allegedly approached her. What began as an unwelcome encounter quickly escalated into an act of molestation, leaving the young woman traumatized.

The victim bravely recounted that the two accused followed her as she neared her residence.

In a brazen act, they reportedly molested her before fleeing the scene, leaving her in a state of distress. Demonstrating remarkable presence of mind under duress, she immediately contacted her brother, who, upon hearing the harrowing details, advised her to promptly file a police complaint.

Acting swiftly on the information, the Subramanyapura police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on September 15.

The case has been filed under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty. This serious charge underscores the gravity of the alleged actions and the commitment of law enforcement to pursue justice.
