A chilling series of allegations has led to the arrest of a Palos Hills resident, Michael Deiters, who now faces some truly serious charges. Prosecutors have formally accused the 35-year-old of aggravated criminal sexual assault, among other felony counts, after a woman reported a deeply disturbing incident that allegedly occurred following a concert meet-up earlier this year.

It all reportedly began back in May, around the 17th, when Deiters and the woman crossed paths at a metal concert in Chicago — specifically, a Slaughter to Prevail show. After the music faded, the two apparently continued their evening, eventually making their way back to Deiters' residence in Palos Hills. This is where the story takes a dark turn, according to the victim's account.

Once at his home, the woman claims Deiters offered her a drink. Her memory of what happened next is fractured, but she distinctly recalls consuming the beverage, only to swiftly lose consciousness. When she awoke, disoriented and vulnerable, she allegedly found herself being sexually assaulted. This account forms the grim core of the charges against him.

Understandably shaken, the woman promptly reported the alleged assault to the Chicago Police Department. Investigators wasted no time, collecting crucial evidence and embarking on a thorough probe. They were able to piece together details, including identifying Deiters through social media and, significantly, a very distinctive tattoo that helped confirm his identity.

The investigation culminated in Deiters' arrest on August 31st. He now faces a trio of serious felony charges: aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, and aggravated battery, specifically citing drug inducement. During his recent bond hearing, a judge set Deiters' bail at a substantial $500,000. For him to walk free pending trial, a staggering $50,000 — 10 percent — would need to be posted.
