Shiva Sharma Murder: Three Accused Arrested, Prime Suspect Shraddha Dubey in Custody

Three suspects, including the prime suspect, nabbed in Nagpur after weeks‑long hunt

Lucknow police and the UP Special Task Force captured three absconding accused in the Shiva Sharma murder case, ending a high‑profile manhunt.

After a frantic, days‑long chase that stretched from Lucknow to Nagpur, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force teamed up with local police and finally hauled in three accused in the Shiva Sharma murder case. Among them was the prime suspect, Shraddha Dubey, along with her sister Rashmi Dubey and their driver, Danish.

The trio was intercepted on Tuesday in Nagpur, each carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 that had been offered for information leading to their capture. The operation was tightly coordinated, and officials say the suspects tried to slip away, but the net closed fast.

The murder case was lodged on October 9 at Hazratganj police station under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, after Ranjana Sharma, the victim’s mother, filed a written complaint. Initially, the police announced a Rs 25,000 reward, which was later doubled to Rs 50,000 as the hunt intensified.

Ranjana Sharma recounted the bewildering moments after her son’s disappearance. “Shraddha’s sister called, saying Shiva had fallen from the balcony and they were taking him to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital,” she said. “When we got there, there was no record of his admission. The driver then told us they were at the Medical College emergency ward, but he fled when I pressed for details.” The mother, visibly shaken, pleaded for swift justice and handed over every piece of evidence she owned to the investigators.

Meanwhile, Shraddha Dubey maintains she is innocent, insisting the death was a suicide and that CCTV footage from her building will clear her name. “I’ve known Shiva only for a few months, mostly as a friend. He never visited my home until recently, and his mother’s accusations are baseless,” she asserted.

The arrested individuals are being taken back to Lucknow for further legal procedures. The case continues to attract public attention, with many awaiting the court’s verdict and hoping that the truth finally emerges.
