Shinde Cracks Down: Shiv Sena Chief Suspended Over Palghar Hospital Assault

Specifically, tensions flared when hospital staff insisted on a 24-hour observation period for a 19-year-old govinda, while the group reportedly argued over a remaining bill of ₹9,000 out of a total ₹19,000.

Eyewitnesses and initial reports suggest a heated argument escalated into physical violence. It's alleged that Rahul Gharat himself slapped a staff member during the altercation. Furthermore, CCTV footage from the hospital is believed to show at least one individual assaulting a receptionist, painting a clear, grim picture of the events. Vivek Zinga, a hospital employee, was among those allegedly targeted.

Following the incident, Palghar police moved swiftly, registering a First Information Report (FIR) on Sunday, September 6, against a total of 17 individuals. Among those booked, alongside Rahul Gharat, are Kundan Sankhe, the Shiv Sena's Palghar district chief, and Rohit Gavit, who is the son of local MLA Rajendra Gavit.
