September 2026 LEGO Picks: Shrek, Gremlins, Holiday Magic and More

When the leaves start to turn and the calendar flips toward the holidays, LEGO’s September rollout feels like a little present in itself. We dug through the new wave of bricks and pulled together eight sets that are already in stock or open for preorder, and—bonus—they’re all priced so you don’t have to break the bank.

Lego Minifigures Shrek Series – LEGO finally jumped on the blind‑box craze with a Shrek‑themed collection. For just $5 you get a sealed capsule that could contain any of 12 beloved characters: Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Pinocchio, Gingy, Dragon, Puss in Boots, Thelonious, Big Bad Wolf, Merlin, Lord Farquaad, Fairy Godmother or Prince Charming. Each tiny surprise comes with seven pieces and is aimed at kids six and up, though collectors of all ages will love the nostalgia.

Lego BrickHeadz Gremlin Gizmo & Stripe – If you’ve ever wondered what a gremlin would look like in daylight, these BrickHeadz figures answer the question with a grin. At $25, Gizmo stands a little over three inches tall while Stripe reaches about three‑and‑a‑half inches. The set includes 230 pieces and is recommended for ages 10+—perfect for a cheeky desk‑top display.

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026 – Forget chocolate; this year the countdown to Christmas comes with a daily Star Wars surprise. The 24‑day calendar focuses on the Mandalorian universe, featuring mini‑figures of the titular bounty hunter, Grogu in holiday gear, plus iconic vehicles and a festive‑colored X‑wing. With 293 pieces, it’s a fun way for fans 6 and up to unwrap a little galaxy each day.

Lego Santa’s Holiday Countdown – Not a fan of chocolate advent calendars? LEGO’s got a reusable alternative: a rotating clock that lets you manually mark off the days until Christmas. At $59.99 and built from 873 pieces, the set is sturdy enough for kids ten and older and adds a functional décor touch to any holiday mantel.

Lego Nike Air Force 1 x LEGO Set – Sneakerheads, rejoice. This collaboration ships a detailed replica of Nike’s iconic Air Force 1, plus a minifigure astronaut that can spin 360°. With a whopping 1,093 pieces, the set targets ages 12+ and retails for $99.99, making it a bold statement piece for any collection.

Lego Ideas La Catrina – In honor of Día de los Muertos, LEGO released a towering 17‑inch La Catrina figurine. The posable design showcases intricate butterflies and marigolds, and the set contains 1,212 pieces. It’s geared toward adult builders (18+) and costs $139.99, offering a beautiful tribute to the Mexican tradition.

Lego Icons Hubble Space Telescope – Bringing the famous telescope home has never been easier. This detailed replica lands on your bookshelf with 1,259 pieces, perfect for space enthusiasts twelve and older. It joins LEGO’s recent astrophysics line‑up that includes Project Hail Mary and an Artemis set.

All eight of these releases are already purchasable (or open for preorder) as we write, and more than half sit under the $100 mark. Whether you’re hunting for a quirky gift, a holiday décor item, or a new hobby project, September’s LEGO lineup has something to spark joy.
