Watching the film, many viewers were left asking if Farleigh died towards the end of Saltburn. So, here’s all you need to know about what happened to him.

What happened to Farleigh in Saltburn? Oliver framed Farliegh twice in the film. First, he sent an email to Sotheby’s Auction from Farleigh’s account claiming that he had come by some Palissy Plates to sell off. Elsbeth found out about it and made Farleigh leave. But later when Farleigh was invited back on Oliver’s birthday, the latter framed him for Felix’s death.

Since he was spotted using cocaine, Oliver used that to his advantage. Mentioning that Farleigh was “racking up lines” of cocaine on the night Felix died, Oliver implied that Farleigh was indirectly responsible for Felix’s overdose. Since the drug was found in Farleigh’s room, Sir James Catton banned him from ever returning to Saltburn and he was presumably sent back to the US.

Did Farleigh die in Saltburn? Framing Farleigh was enough for Oliver to get him away from Saltburn and the Catton family. He was never seen even after the time jump. So, Farleigh’s fate is left to the viewers’ perception. Since he never returned to claim any inheritance of the Catton family assets, it’s possible that Oliver had found him and killed him as well during the time both of them were away from Saltburn.

But it is also possible that Farleigh simply stayed away after Elspeth’s death. He probably wouldn’t have had any right to claim the Catton family assets because Sir James had cast him out a long time ago. If this was the case, then perhaps it was best for Farleigh to have been sent away. Otherwise, Oliver would have killed him as well.
