Reliance’s Tira brings South Korean dermo‑cosmetics brand Dr Melaxin to India

Tira launches clinically‑backed Dr Melaxin skincare line on its e‑store and select outlets

Reliance Retail’s beauty platform Tira has introduced South Korea’s Dr Melaxin to Indian consumers, offering dermatologist‑tested products for pigmentation, pores, ageing and firmness.

Reliance Retail’s online beauty hub, Tira, has just opened the doors for South Korean dermo‑cosmetics label Dr Melaxin in India. The rollout is exclusive – you’ll find the range on Tira’s website and in a handful of its flagship stores.

Dr Melaxin’s catalogue isn’t about glitter or pastel‑coloured tubes. It focuses on tried‑and‑true skin concerns – stubborn pigmentation, visibly enlarged pores, loss of firmness and the dreaded signs of ageing. What’s interesting is that the formulas are said to be inspired by vaccine science, a claim the brand backs up with dermatologist testing on sensitive skin.

Why does this matter now? According to Euromonitor International, India’s skincare market swelled by 13 % in 2025, hitting roughly ₹32,210 crore. The growth is being driven by shoppers who want products that are “clinically positioned” and ingredient‑rich, and they’re increasingly looking to dermatologists and digital education for guidance.

“Medical‑skincare has moved into the mainstream,” notes Dr Deepali Bhardwaj, a senior dermatologist at Max Hospital. “People come to the clinic already knowing terms like retinol, niacinamide or peptides. They want proof, not just pretty packaging.” That sentiment is echoed by pharma players too. Glenmark, for instance, touts a burgeoning dermatology‑led self‑care portfolio that spans from prescription‑only hits to over‑the‑counter creams.

For Dr Melaxin, India is a “must‑have” market, says CEO Yu Kyoung Hwa. The brand sees Indian buyers as curious, well‑informed and eager for solutions that tackle uneven texture, dullness and long‑term resilience. As part of the launch, the company is rolling out its Peel Shot line – a set of treatments aimed at brightening and tightening the skin.

The partnership fits neatly into Tira’s strategy of stacking its shelves with science‑backed international names. By offering these products online and in select points of sale, Tira hopes to give Indian consumers easier access to dermatologist‑recommended skincare without the need for a prescription.
