Ramayana Set for November 8 Release? Epic Bollywood Clash with Godzilla: Minus Zero

When the first look of Ranbir Kapoor’s and Yash’s much‑anticipated mythological saga Ramayana was shown to a handful of insiders, a few observant fans spotted more than just dazzling visuals – they thought they saw a release date. In a 3‑D screening at Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam, trade analyst Jeevi posted an enthusiastic note that ended with, “Can’t wait for the film to hit theatres on 8 November.”

The comment has set social media buzzing. While the producers haven’t issued an official confirmation, the timing aligns with the trailer’s public debut scheduled for 24 July. If the date holds, the film will arrive just two days after Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla: Minus Zero, which is slated for a worldwide release on 6 November.

Such a narrow window could turn the box‑office landscape into a battlefield for premium‑format screens – IMAX, 4DX and the like – especially in North America and Europe where monster movies tend to dominate. Godzilla: Minus Zero follows the Oscar‑winning Godzilla Minus One and is expected to draw huge crowds, raising the stakes for Ramayana which is positioned as the first part of a two‑part epic series.

Beyond the scheduling drama, early reactions to the trailer are overwhelmingly positive. Directors Siddharth Anand and Atlee, who were among the private viewing crowd, described the footage as “spectacular.” Jeevi praised Ranbir Kapoor’s embodiment of Lord Rama, Yash’s intimidating turn as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi’s graceful portrayal of Sita, noting that the colour palette and visual identity feel authentically Indian.

Back in October, Yash had hinted at an “end‑October” window during a CinemaCon interview, but the new speculation nudges the timeline a week later. Whether the November 8 slot is a firm plan or a rough placeholder remains to be seen – the imminent trailer launch will likely clear the air.
