Raipur CM Vishnu Deo Sai Unveils Rs 105 Crore Development Drive for Bemetara

On a crisp morning in Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai gathered with district officials, local leaders and a handful of curious journalists to unveil what he called a “game‑changing” development package for Bemetara. The figure on the table? A whopping ₹105 crore – enough to fund a dozen major projects, if not more.

First up, the CM emphasized roads – because, let’s face it, nothing moves a region forward like a smooth highway. About ₹30 crore will go into widening existing state highways, adding new bridges and sealing rural lanes that have long been riddled with potholes. “When farmers can get their produce to market without a bumpy ride, everybody wins,” he said, with a half‑smile that suggested he’s seen the stubborn dust clouds of the past.

Education got its share of attention, too. Roughly ₹20 crore will be earmarked for constructing two new senior secondary schools and renovating four government primary schools. The plan includes modern classrooms, digital boards – yes, those shiny screens that have become the norm – and a modest library in each institution. “We can’t build a future on crumbling walls,” Sai added, pausing as if recalling a childhood memory of a leaky roof.

Health is another pillar. The minister announced a boost of ₹18 crore for Bemetara’s district hospital, earmarked for a new pediatric wing, upgraded ICU facilities, and a fleet of ambulances equipped with GPS. “If a child falls sick, the nearest hospital should be a place of hope, not a distant nightmare,” he remarked, his voice softening.

Water and irrigation, the lifelines of an agrarian district, won’t be left out. An allocation of ₹22 crore will fund the construction of three new check‑dams, rejuvenation of existing canals, and the distribution of drip‑irrigation kits to 5,000 smallholder farms. “Rain may be fickle, but our water management shouldn’t be,” Sai said, chuckling lightly.

Finally, the plan touches on livelihoods beyond farming. About ₹15 crore will be funneled into skill‑development centres, offering courses in tailoring, carpentry, and computer basics. The aim? To give the youth something more than “just a field” to work on. “Every child deserves a chance to choose their path,” he concluded, his eyes scanning the audience.

While the numbers sound impressive, the CM reminded everyone that execution is the real test. He urged local bodies, NGOs and private players to join hands, noting that “development is a team sport, not a solo act.” The announcement, he promised, will be followed by a detailed roadmap in the coming weeks.
