Rocky Hill, CT – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Preston Beaudreau, a gentle soul, devoted family man, and esteemed pharmacist, who left us peacefully on May 20, 2024, at the age of 78. Formerly a resident of Newington, Preston's life was a testament to quiet strength, unwavering commitment, and the enduring power of love.

Born into a generation that valued hard work and dedication, Preston pursued his passion for healing by attending the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy, graduating with the distinguished Class of 1968.

His career as a pharmacist was more than just a profession; it was a calling. He served his community with integrity and care, most notably as the proud owner of Cromwell Pharmacy, where he fostered deep connections with his patients. Even after selling his beloved pharmacy, Preston continued to share his expertise, working at various establishments including Rite Aid, always ensuring the well-being of those he served.

Before embarking on his fulfilling career, Preston bravely answered the call of duty, serving his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

His military service instilled in him a profound sense of purpose and resilience that he carried throughout his life, though he spoke little of his time overseas, preferring to live a life of peaceful contribution.

Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Preston was a man who cherished his family above all else.

He was the beloved husband of Ann, his partner in life's journey for many years. Together, they built a life filled with warmth and support. Though he experienced the heartbreaking loss of his daughter Kristen, his love for his children, Brian and Kelly, never wavered. He delighted in his role as a grandfather to Connor, Brendan, Aidan, Ella, and Jack, finding immense joy in their laughter and milestones.

Preston also embraced life's simple pleasures with enthusiasm.

An avid fisherman and golfer, he found tranquility on the water and camaraderie on the greens. He was a dedicated fan of UConn sports, eagerly following his alma mater's teams. His green thumb was evident in his beautiful garden, and he cherished opportunities to travel and lose himself in a good book.

These hobbies reflected a man who appreciated balance and sought contentment in every aspect of his life.

Those who knew Preston will remember him as a true gentleman – kind, gentle, and possessed of a strong work ethic that inspired many. His quiet demeanor belied a deep well of love and devotion that he freely gave to his family and friends.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Ann, his children Brian Beaudreau and Kelly Beaudreau, his cherished grandchildren, and his dear sisters Paula and Patricia. Preston’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those he touched, a beacon of kindness and unwavering spirit.
