Political Storm Brews: Jagan Alleges 'Vendetta' in Ex-Minister's Arrest, Blasts Naidu Government

A fresh political storm seems to be brewing in Andhra Pradesh, with YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launching a scathing attack on the current Chandrababu Naidu-led government. His accusation? A clear case of "political vendetta" behind the recent arrest of former minister Seediri Appala Raju.

You see, Appala Raju, once a prominent figure in Jagan’s cabinet, now finds himself behind bars at Ampolu District Jail, near Srikakulam. The circumstances surrounding his arrest are, to put it mildly, contentious. Jagan Mohan Reddy insists this isn't just any legal matter; it's a "false case," meticulously fabricated by the Naidu government with, as he claims, purely "mala fide intentions." The goal, he alleges, is to deliberately trouble a Backward Classes (BC) family and, even more cruelly, to potentially ruin the future of Appala Raju’s son.

Delving a little deeper into the specific incident, Jagan highlighted some rather critical details. According to him, Appala Raju's son, far from being a culprit, actually attempted to perform CPR on the victim. What’s more, he promptly called both 108 for emergency services and the police. Yet, despite these actions, which one might interpret as attempts to help, he’s reportedly been slapped with serious charges. Jagan's argument is stark: an unfortunate "accident" has, in his view, been cynically "converted into a murder case." It certainly paints a picture of deliberate escalation, if true.

But this isn't an isolated incident, or so Jagan claims. He points to a perceived pattern, suggesting that Chandrababu Naidu has a history of targeting political opponents. The modus operandi, as he describes it, involves a collaboration between "friendly media" outlets and the police, who allegedly invoke harsh sections of the law against those who stand in Naidu's way. To underscore his point about alleged double standards, Jagan drew a sharp contrast. He questioned why similar incidents involving ruling party MLAs from Ichchapuram and Pathapatnam haven't resulted in comparable legal action. "Where are the cases there?" he seemed to imply, leaving little doubt about his belief in selective justice.

The former Chief Minister didn't stop there. He went on to accuse Naidu of "whipping up passions in the name of caste," even alleging that a minister from the victim's own caste is being used for political gain.
