PML-N's Rana Sanaullah Secures Decisive Senate Victory in Punjab By-Election

In a significant political development, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Rana Sanaullah Khan has triumphantly secured a Senate seat from Punjab in a by-election held recently. This victory marks a notable success for the ruling party and reinforces its presence in the upper house of parliament.

The seasoned politician emerged victorious by a substantial margin, polling an impressive 212 votes.

His primary contender, Shahzad Shaukat of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), garnered 65 votes. The by-election saw a total of 277 votes cast, out of 327 members of the Punjab Assembly, underscoring active participation in the electoral process.

The by-election was necessitated by the resignation of PML-N's Azam Nazeer Tarar, who had vacated his seat to assume the role of federal minister for law and justice.
