The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has moved decisively to consolidate its position ahead of the crucial PP-10 Rawalpindi Cantt-I by-election, forming a high-powered four-member parliamentary board to meticulously select its candidate. With the by-poll scheduled for April 21, the party is leaving no stone unturned in its bid to secure the significant Punjab Assembly seat, which has become a focal point of political attention.

This snap election has been necessitated by the Punjab Assembly Speaker, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, who declared the previous election of PML-N’s Chaudhry Iftekhar Ahmed null and void due to proven irregularities.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) subsequently ordered a re-election, setting the stage for a fresh, keenly contested battle for legislative representation in the Rawalpindi Cantonment area.
