Piziak's Stellar Performance Can't Halt Saints' Golf Defeat Against Pathfinder

WESTFIELD, MA – In a golf showdown filled with determined swings and strategic plays at the beautiful Tekoa Country Club, St. Mary's High School's very own Curt Piziak delivered a truly standout performance, carding an impressive 46. Yet, despite Piziak's individual brilliance, the Saints found themselves outmaneuvered by a formidable Pathfinder Regional squad, ultimately falling 206-222 in a competitive nine-hole match.

From the first tee, it was clear Piziak was on a mission.

His unwavering focus and precise execution saw him navigate the challenging course with remarkable skill, posting the best score for the Saints and proving a beacon of excellence for his team. His 46 was a testament to his dedication and talent, a highlight in an otherwise tough day for St. Mary's.

However, golf is a team sport, and Pathfinder Regional showcased a deeper bench of consistent players.

Brayden LaFleche led the way for Pathfinder, securing the match's lowest score with an exceptional 44, setting a high bar for the competition. LaFleche's performance, combined with solid rounds from teammates Andrew LeBeau (50), Luke Pullen (53), and Mike Slattery (59), demonstrated Pathfinder's collective strength and depth, allowing them to clinch the victory.

For St.

Mary's, while Piziak shone brightly, the supporting cast battled hard but couldn't quite match Pathfinder's collective consistency. Chase Ralph contributed a 55, while Will Fouche and Colin Fouche rounded out the scoring with a 60 and 61 respectively. Each stroke was fought for, each putt a moment of high tension, but in the end, Pathfinder's aggregate score proved too high a hurdle.
