Pickett Fire Update: Napa County Blaze Reaches 51% Containment After Destroying Five Structures

Napa County, CA – Firefighters battling the devastating Pickett Fire near the picturesque community of Pickett have achieved significant progress, pushing containment to 51% on the blaze that ignited just outside the scenic Napa Valley. The inferno, which erupted on Friday afternoon, has tragically scorched approximately 450 acres, leaving a trail of destruction that includes five completely destroyed structures and one additional property sustaining damage.

The Pickett Fire sparked around 1:30 p.m.

on Friday, sending plumes of smoke into the sky and immediately raising alarms across Napa County, specifically west of State Route 29. Emergency crews from Cal Fire LNU, the Napa County Fire Department, and the Napa County Sheriff's Office launched a rapid and coordinated response, deploying extensive resources to combat the rapidly spreading flames and protect threatened communities.

In a critical and welcomed development, all previously issued evacuation orders for local residences were lifted on Saturday at 10 a.m., allowing relieved residents to begin returning to their homes.

Pickett Road at Highway 29 and Pickett Road at Berryessa Knoxville Road are still inaccessible, ensuring a clear and safe path for emergency vehicles and safeguarding the public from active fire zones.
