Ocean County Columbus Day Parade Canceled Amid Alarming Security Threats

For the second consecutive year, the vibrant streets of Seaside Heights will not witness the traditional Ocean County Columbus Day Parade. Organizers have officially announced the cancellation of the 2023 event, citing grave security concerns and escalating threats that they believe could compromise public safety.

The decision comes amidst a contentious backdrop that has plagued the parade for several years.

What began as a celebration of Italian-American heritage has increasingly become a flashpoint for protests, with Native American groups and other activists calling for the abolition of Columbus Day itself.
