NHAI Repairs NH‑75, Restores Motorability Near Enjira

Cracks, potholes and craters on NH‑75 near Enjira fixed; road now safe for commuters

After heavy rains turned a stretch of NH‑75 into a bumpy nightmare, NHAI stepped in, filled craters and patched potholes, making the road motorable again near Enjira.

When the monsoon showers battered Karnataka’s coastal belt last month, a key segment of NH‑75 near Enjira began to show its age – riddled with potholes, craters and a few unsettling dips that made drivers uneasy.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) didn’t take long to respond. Within a few days, crews were on the ground, hauling equipment, laying fresh bitumen and sealing the gaping holes that had appeared almost overnight.

"We understand the inconvenience caused to daily commuters and transporters," said a senior NHAI official, who asked to remain unnamed. "Our teams worked round‑the‑clock to ensure the road is safe and motorable again." The official added that the repair work involved both filling the larger craters with a cement‑asphalt mix and resurfacing the adjoining stretches to prevent future degradation.

Local residents, who had been navigating the treacherous stretch with caution, expressed relief. "We were really worried about our vehicles, especially the trucks that ply this route," said Ramesh, a shop owner from Enjira. "Now, the ride is smoother, and we can get our goods delivered on time again."

While the repaired section stretches for about three kilometres, NHAI officials hinted that a more comprehensive survey is in the pipeline to assess other vulnerable spots along the highway, especially after the recent heavy downpours.

For now, motorists can breathe easier. The freshly patched road not only restores connectivity between Mangalore and interior regions but also underscores the importance of swift infrastructure upkeep in a rain‑prone state.
